Tasks and campaign work
Campaign checklists and Todoist tasks
Understand Rollout timeline and checklist fields, link an existing Todoist project, and complete permitted task actions with your own connection.
Reviewed October 22, 2026
Rollout supports two related ways to track campaign work: timeline and checklist entries stored on the release sheet, and tasks in a linked Todoist project. Choose the sheet for campaign context and Todoist when your team wants to act on work in its existing task system.
Track work on the sheet
Campaign timeline holds dates, milestones and owner notes. Marketing beats holds checklist items. These remain sheet content until you explicitly send an eligible row to Todoist. Editing an owner note on the sheet does not assign a Todoist task.
Link an existing project
- Open Account and connect your Todoist account using the options shown.
- Open the release and choose Link a Todoist project.
- Select an existing project you can access, then choose Use this project. Only Rollout editors and admins can change the linked project.
Everyone who can open the release can read the linked project’s tasks through the linking teammate’s connection. To change a task, connect your own Todoist account and make sure that account has the required access to the project. A Rollout viewer can perform permitted Todoist actions with that connection while remaining unable to edit release sheets.
Work with linked tasks
The panel shows tasks grouped by section, with search and a Refresh button. Open a task to read its description, subtasks and comments. When your connection permits it, use Mark done, Undo to reopen a task, or Add a comment.
Editors with Todoist access can use → Todoist on a timeline or checklist row to create a task in the linked project. A timeline date is included as the task’s due date. Once sent, the row offers Done in Todoist.
Know the limits
Rollout does not create Todoist projects, administer teams, invite collaborators, assign tasks or delete Todoist tasks. Do that work in Todoist itself. The panel fetches current information when opened or refreshed; it is not a background synchronization service. Resolve a release save conflict before sending sheet rows to Todoist.
